Language Endangerment and Language Maintenance : An Active Approach

With the fantastic development of traffic and communication technology,human communication becomes more and more frequent,followed by frequent language contact,which in turn results in language competition,lingustic hegemony and language endangerment.The nature of language and its social value,together with language attitude,promote the birth of language rights and encourage language maintenance.The international practices on maintenance of endangered languages give implications for Chinese international popularization and minority language protection in China.
