In recent years, Internal Waves (IWs) detection in a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image has received considerable attention in the area of marine remote sensing. In fact, IWs detection has already become one of the most important marine applications of SAR. Typical research results from home and abroad are reviewed. In this paper, the parameter inversion method of IWs, the effect of different SAR parameters and wind field conditions on IWs imaging, and the 2-dimentional SAR imaging simulation of IWs are introduced and summarized.
