It consists of a quadrangular enclosure with two stone and several wooden buildings. The residence was built in the spirit of Roman building traditions according to a carefully thought-out plan, using Roman building technologies and Roman building materials. It served the needs of the local Germanic chieftain and is an eloquent testimony to the peaceful Roman-Germanic relations at the end of Antiquity.
