Detection and Protection of Landscape Monuments of Ukraine

The article is devoted to the detection and protection of landscape monuments of Ukraine. The relevance of the research is due to the imperfection of regulatory support, the lack of experience in protection and preservation of large landscaped areas, measures that would prevent a negative human impact on them. The aim of the research is to highlight the problematic issues in identifying and protecting valuable landscapes, to analyze the existing methodological support for the protection of landscape monuments, to identify the basic principles for their identification and protection, and to identify the main directions for further research on the protection of landscapes monuments of Ukraine. The methodology of the research is to apply the methods of theoretical research, namely, general scientific, special and interdisciplinary research methods. The methods of systematization and generalization of previous developments have been applied. Scientific novelty consists in systematization of the existing normative base for landscape monuments, determination of the basic principles for their detection and protection. The results and conclusions of the research can be used to take the landscape monuments of the cultural heritage to the state registration. The conclusions of the work can be used to improve the Ukrainian legislation on the protection of cultural heritage and in practical measures for the protection of cultural heritage, in particular: during the preparation of accounting and scientific and project documentation for the landscape monuments of historic settlements of Ukraine.
