Lime carbide waste is a byproduct of an acetylene generation plant located in Reghaia, east of Algiers, Algeria. This residue offers an effective and economical solution in the field of environmental protection, especially as raw materials for wastewater treatment and soil enrichment. Metallic content was studied using X-ray fluorescence (CubiX XRF/PANalytical). Toxic minerals was analyzed by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). According to the comparative study, the characterization and total concentrations of minerals are significantly low and do not exceed the limit values for hazardous wastes and are in line with the standard recommendations of the agricultural field.
