Nodular calcrete with beta fabrics was documented from the lower Permian (Cisuralian) continental Korpad Sandstone Formation where the subaerial exposure section was developed on a strongly altered, volcanic shard-rich siliciclastic substrate. Additionally, two locations with Microcodium-bearing calcrete developed on a lower Jurassic carbonate substrate were published in the last few years.
