Bearing in mind the importance of the family, both historical and contemporary, this article presents and discusses selected legal acts enacted in the period of the People’s Republic of Poland, which protected the basic social cell, the family. Rodzina w świetle wybranych aktów prawnych z okresu Polski Ludowej
