Sigmund Freud and Suicide—In His Life and in His Writings
Abstract:Freud did not construct a coherent theory about suicide, but reasoning about and analyses of suicide are scattered throughout his writings, both in the case histories and in his theoretical writings. In this article the authors present Freud’s reference and comments t suicide and self-harming actions, and an updated investigation of Freud’s biography regarding his person experiences of death and suicide and his reactions to them.
