The present research had the objective of characterizing the use of behavioral economics to combat the COVID19, approaching a study through the systematic review of literature; related to the integrative literature design. The results indicate that policy makers use non-pharmaceutical interventions, based on behavioral economics and psychology because they are less expensive to reduce the transmission of infectious diseases. There are several publications addressing cognitive, psychological and social factors that influence irrational behavior of people at the time of decision making, which cannot be predicted with mathematical and statistical models, as opposed to the neoclassical economic theory that is based on the maximization of utility. It has been determined that there are diverse behavioral tools to face behavioral biases for the adequate decision making, being "nudging"as the main tool to counteract the cognitive costs of absorbing information in the propagation of the COVID19 virus; hence, the thematic approach has intersubjective elements typical of are search in the qualitative route, which is why it is considered to be submitted to comparisons and scrutinies through diverse methods and approaches.
