Compliance: tre tecniche motivazionali a confronto
Objectives
Patient compliance in modern dentistry is essential: it allows elective therapeutic choices as well as stabilization, prevention, and healing of oral and systemic pathologies. The main purpose of this research was to compare three motivation techniques, based on different home oral hygiene educational methodologies, in order to identify the most effective on patient compliance.
Materials and methods
Sixty subjects were equally divided into three groups; their PlI and BoP were measured at four different times; the compliance level was evaluated as well.
Results and conclusions
PlI and BoP were reduced in all groups, while only 15% and 55% of patients in group C and A, respectively, achieved a good compliance level. Group B (65%) provided the best practice method.
