It was collected from bycatch trash of Kumbhabhishekam fishing harbour, Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh). It is the first record of this species from this area beyond its type locality Persian Gulf. This species is characterised by the presence of serrated endopod and triangular cephalon. First Report of Cymothoid Isopod Nerocila kisra Bowman and Tareen, 1983 (Family: Cymothoidae) from India
This paper reports Nerocila kisra Bowman and Tareen, 1983, for the first time from the coastal waters of India. It was collected from bycatch trash of Kumbhabhishekam fishing harbour, Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh). It is the first record of this species from this area beyond its type locality Persian Gulf.
