In general, conventional approaches produce color distortion or they require additional circuits for power reduction, whereas the proposed algorithm only changes the gray levels of an input image by considering the original image quality without additional circuits. In particular, the proposed algorithm generates an objective function after estimating the image degradation and power consumption. Next, it searches for the minimum value of the function and determines the final gray-level mapping curve.
