Nine cases were reported. All cases occurred in farmers from rural areas associated with lower rabies awareness, and eight cases had a definitive history of animal exposure, most commonly in the form of domestic dog bites. All nine patients presented as manic and died within 1–8 days from disease onset (mortality rate of 100%).
