This study provides the first evidence of the Cenomanian-Coniacian Sr-isotope minimum from the East European (Russian) Platform, likely related to underwater Caribbean basaltic volcanism. New data suggest that the initial phase of Caribbean volcanism coincided with the temperature maximum and development of oceanic anoxic conditions (OAE 2), but the peak of the assumed volcanic activity in the late Turonian (90.8 Ma) was probably accompanied by a decrease in temperature and phytoplankton productivity. A high priority level is given to synchronic and/or diachronic studies based on multi- or inter-disciplinary approaches mixing various fields of Earth and Life Sciences. Works based on extant data are also considered, provided they offer significant insights into geological-time studies.
