Disciplinary Structure of Scientific Research in the Post-Soviet Countries
The disciplinary structure and dynamics of scientific research in the post-Soviet countries over the course of 30 years is analyzed. Analysis of the data from the InCites Database shows that there are significant differences between the post-Soviet countries in the degree of specialization/diversification of the disciplinary structure of scientific research. Thus, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Kazakhstan have the most diversified disciplinary profile. In other countries, the structure of scientific research remains specialized, and it has decreased over time in most of them. All of the examined countries specialize in physics, but there is also an increase in the share of publications in the social sciences and humanities.
