The experiences from these years have stayed with me and they also had a great impact on my academic and cultural interests. Indeed, they left such a resonance that I attended a summer school at Kazan Federal University the following year. This collection of photos, exhibited at the University of Glasgow’s Centenary of Russian Studies, document my time out there. When taking pictures, I am always conscious of the space which I find myself and I try to reinterpret a subject’s surroundings to create a unique aesthetic.
