In order to be able to decide whether or not the pain management is effective, the pain must be assessed with a valid measurement tool. Therefore, the first step of effective pain management is evaluating of the pain with appropriate assessment tools / tool. Today, one-dimensional and multidimensional scales are used in assessing pain.
