Six participants who met the inclusion criteria (men, older than 30 years of age, with a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus, and with a duration of the disease of at least one year in 2016) were included. Semi-structured interviews were conducted on their process and perception of the disease in their lives, which were then analyzed and coded using the Atlas.ti program. Results: e 7 categories obtained account for the perception of men regarding the disease. ese perceptions show an association of health with the absence of symptoms and pain.
