These analyzes allowed the identification of pestalotin-1 ( 1 ) and the phthalides (3R*,8S*)-5,7-dihydroxy-3-(1-hydroxyethyl)-phthalide ( 2 ) and (3R*,8R*)-5,7-dihydroxy-3-(1-hydroxyethyl)-phthalide ( 3 ). The extracts, their fractions and isolated substances were tested against several bacteria.
