Retrieval of floating clot in the internal carotid artery: extracranial SAVE technique (eSAVE).

Acutely ruptured atherosclerotic plaques with adjacent floating clot within the internal carotid artery in patients suffering from extra-/intracranial tandem lesions are often treated with stent-assisted balloon angioplasty.
