Environmental sustainability, a holistic view from health sector perspective
In the current age, Environmental sustainability has become a mushrooming catchword for the industries and its policy trailblazers. Healthcare industry being a part of service sector is regarded as an important service enterprise and a domain of interest among organizations concerned with ecological and green challenges as the result of huge production of waste. These health care units are also facing pressure from interest groups to adopt environmental-friendly health care practices. In this context, the present paper provides a comprehensive view of environmental sustainability through the theoretical foundation in terms of classical, neoclassical, ecological perspectives. This paper also highlights the associated factors such as management of sustainability, eco-communication managing healthcare pollution, resource preservation, recycling of water, energy preservation, and sustainability of hospital rooms. Lastly, the present paper also offers effective strategies like lean strategy and green human resource management Strategy to facilitate the approach of Environmental sustainability in the context of health care industry.
