EnglishThis article presents the case of Concepcion s Central Market and the erroneous belief it was designed by the Hungarian architect and Bauhaus student, Tibor Weiner. In this sense, it seeks to articulate a new historiographic narrative of the complex, which was declared a national historical monument in 2014, by introducing new models from which to reflect on this market building: colonial architecture and a link to wooden architecture. The methodology was based on a review of unpublished historical documents and an analysis of the built form. In short, the research is located at the intersection of the transnational and vernacular history of modern architecture.
