Ferrimagnetic glass fibers within ferrosilicate glass system were prepared by spinning method. The effect of ferric oxide content on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the glass fibers were examined. The X-ray diffraction analysis showed the presence of magnetite with spontaneous crystallization for all investigated samples. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis indicates that the size of magnetite is less than 30 nm in diameter.
