The described results are based on the normative documents regulating the professional development of university professors. The non-progressiveness of the professional standard of the teacher of Kazakhstan has been substantiated. Besides, there was a survey of 614 lecturers of pedagogical training facilities to determine their need for professional development. The sample was random and the data collection was carried out using a questionnaire.
