First record of Phyllocoptruta musae (Acari: Prostigmata: Eriophyidae) in the Neotropics, in Hispaniola

The banana rust mite, Phyllocoptruta musae Keifer, is reported for the first time from the Neotropics, in the Dominican Republic. The current known distribution of this pest is provided.
