Postsurgical nutrition follow-up care is traditionally done in person, and limited research exists on the effectiveness of telehealth. This review aimed to determine whether telehealth compared with in-person-care is effective in achieving weight loss post–bariatric surgery. A comprehensive literature search yielded 3 relevant articles. Telehealth was found to be as effective as in-person care in achieving significant weight loss. Dietitians may consider telehealth a viable option for patient care when obstacles to in-person care exist.
