Their structures were assigned based on their NMR and MS data \nand by comparison with literature values. \nThe MeOH extract, isolated compounds and some new semi-synthetic \nderivatives were subjected to in vitro antimicrobial assays \nagainst a panel of pathogenic microorganisms, including Gram-positive \nand Gram-negative bacteria, and fungi using broth microdilution method. The \nMeOH extract displayed activity towards all the tested pathogenic bacterial and fungal strains with good \nactivity (MIC against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC25923 and Shigella flexneri SDINT.
