The result is an accumulation of keratin debris, sweat, sebum, and dirt giving a hyperkeratotic, hyperpigmented, and waxy appearance of the affected area. Soakage of the lesion with alcohol swabs and frictional cleaning of the area leads to the clearing of hyperkeratotic debris.
