Síndrome de Stauffer: un dato de mal pronóstico

Some renal cell carcinomas (RCCs) may present with a paraneoplastic syndrome, which is a manifestation of a tumour that does not derive directly from the tumour or its metastases.

Occasionally it is the initial finding or occurs simultaneously, and can confuse us if we do not know how to interpret it. Stauffer's syndrome is a non-metastatic liver dysfunction mainly associated with this neoplasm, and is considered a poor prognosis factor¹.
