Material and Methods: A bibliographic search was carried out on Brazilian and international electronic bibliographic databases (Lilacs, SciELO, MEDLINE and PubMed). After applying criteria for inclusion and exclusion of articles, 21 studies were selected to carry out the review. Results: A proposal was designed with recommendations to reduce contamination during aerosol-generating procedures with high-speed rotary instruments.
