With the large-scale demand of scientific and engineering jobs, huge number of cloud data centres needs to be constructed to fulfil the requirement of the jobs. The extensive use of cloud data centres leads to increases in cost as well as energy consumption. In this paper, an agent based Cost-Effective Energy Efficient scheduling algorithm, namely, CEEE has been proposed. To establish the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, simulation is performed on CloudSim environment. The proposed algorithm is compared with state of art scheduling algorithms namely, Randam and MaxUtil. The experimental results demonstrates that CEEE algorithm is capable of refining energy efficiency with reduced cost.
