One herbal plant that is often used for its benefits is the clove plant. The use of clove plants as herbal medicines has been known in Indonesia. In addition, the clove plant is also used as a mixture of several herbal drinks that are claimed to the rich-antioxidants drinks. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of toxicity of the clove stem, and to identify the antioxidant activity contained in the clove stem. The method used in this study was the Brine Shrimp Test (BST) to test the toxicity of clove stem extract by determining the LC50 value. In the antioxidant test, the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method was used, and the absorbance was measured by spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 517 nm to determine the IC50 value of the clove stem. 摘要
