For those TPC scholars studying online spaces or digital technologies, the narratives, values, and sites sections give ample ideas, concrete actions, theory, and foundational research behind this design justice lens. What the social justice turn in TPC (Jones et. al., 2016; Walton, Moore, & Jones, 2019) and design justice efforts are, in part, asking us to do is bring tacit knowledge to the forefront, to make explicit how technical documents, infrastructure, and technological design privilege and benefit certain users while oppressing or disenfranchising others, and to pay more attention to how what we create is not neutral.
