First evidence of human infection by Xiphinema brevicollum (Nematoda: Longidoridae).
We present the first case of human infection by a phytopathogenic nematode in a patient suffering from severe abdominal pain. A combination of clinical, parasitological, and molecular examinations allowed us to identify Xiphinema brevicollum as the etiologic agent.
