My inspiration to start the journal was to bring together multi-disciplinary groups and health care providers around the world to share their expertise in the prevention and management of diabetic foot and ankle complications. A number of excellent articles have since then been published, which has led to the inclusion of the journal in PubMed Central/PubMed in record time. Our next goal is to be indexed in MEDLINE and eventually to receive an impact factor.
