Its features have been described on plain chest radiography, chest computed tomography (CT), chest ultrasonography, brain CT, brain magnetic resonance imaging, and fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography. Based on current evidence, imaging plays an ancillary role in the management of those with severe illness.
