The age of the individuals measured ranged from 15 to 96 years (mean value 52.8, median 51 years). Of these individuals, 82 were male and 35 were female. The length of the sagittal suture with respect to body length yielded a correlation coefficient of only r = 0.045 (p = 0.617) in the regression analysis. Similar results were found for the coronal suture: In this case the correlation coefficient was r = 0.015. With an assumed maximum permissible probability of error of α = 0.05, none of the performed regression analyses were found to be statistically significant.
