The three-dimensional boron-oxygen framework consists of [BO<sub>4</sub>]<sup>5-</sup> tetrahedra and trigonal-planar [BO<sub>3</sub>]<sup>3-</sup> groups. The structure contains two crystallographically different cerium ions.
