The transcription machinery in mammalian mitochondria.

Initiation of transcription at mitochondrial promoters in mammalian cells requires the simultaneous presence of a monomeric mitochondrial RNA polymerase, mitochondrial transcription factor A, and either transcription factor B1 or B2.
