Adverse characteristics of temperament and psychosomatic symptoms were assessed in 362 infants aged 3 months by observation of behaviour and parent interview instruments. Results showed cumulative negative effects of nearly equal significance of both biological and psychosocial risk on the severity and number of behavioural disturbances. No sex differences and no interaction of risk factors were found.
