Histologically the tumor was composed of pleomorphic large cells that often demonstrated phagocytic activity. Moreover, histochemical and immunohistochemical tests revealed that the tumor cells had the phenotypes of both anaplastic large cell lymphoma and histiocytic cells. Immunogenotyping failed to demonstrate any lymphoid nature.
