AFLP products undergo agarose gel electrophoresis and Southern transfer to a nylon membrane. Amplicons were detected using a streptavidin-enzyme conjugate. Either colorimetric- or chemiluminescent-developed bands are genotyped using locus-specific allele ladders with known VNTR repeat numbers.
