Clinical and immunological follow-up of trichophytic kerion celsi.
Summary: Eighteen patients who had been affected by trichophytic Kerion Celsi within the past 10 years, and 18 control subjects, were investigated for immunofluorescent specific antibodies directed against the responsible mycetes and trichophytin skin reactivity. Significant titers of humoral antibodies and intensely positive skin reactions were observed in subjects whose infection pre‐dated the study by 1–5 years. The persistence of specific immunological memory could be a contributing factor to resistance to relapses in these patients.
