Then, alternative and innovative nano-based therapeutic options that have been proposed or are currently being explored to significantly improve prostate cancer management (i.e. anti-prostate cancer polymeric nanoparticles loaded with drugs to promote their release and biological activity, including non-targeted and functionalized PLGA-PEG NPs and AuNPs), are introduced.
