花间的资源竞争预计会影响花序内种子产量的变化,但花的位置对竞争相互作用的影响程度仍不完全清楚。为了研究多年生雌雄同株大植物三叶草(Sagittaria trifolia)的位置对种子产量的影响,我们比较了对照花序和实验性地从基部、上部或整个花序中去除一半雌花的花序的种子产量成分(坐果数、每个果实的种子数和种子大小)。基部和上部花的去除减少了每花序的总种子产量,而整个去除处理保持了与对照相当的种子产量。在不同的去除处理中,不同的生殖成分都有一定的增加,这种增加的幅度取决于去除花的位置。基部去花导致每个果实的种子数增加,而上部去花导致坐果数增加,成功地为种子生产提供了部分补偿。在全去除处理下,坐果和结实率均显著提高,与对照相比达到了完全补偿。结果表明,三叶草属花在同一轮内的资源竞争最为激烈,且资源在轮间的再分配潜力随花位的不同而不同。结果表明,需要考虑位置效应,以了解驱动植物种群资源分配和果实生产变化的因素。
