Analysis of the urothelium with experimentally induced injury revealed that injury is more severe in Tff3<sup>KO</sup> mice and urothelial regeneration is attenuated compared with Tff3<sup>WT</sup> mice, suggesting that Tff3 plays a fine-tuned role in homeostasis and protection of the urothelium.
