Our results showed that these cell clusters exhibit a stem cell phenotype, supporting the premise that MPC may serve as a promising solid tumor model for studying invasion and metastasis of cancer stem cell clusters. In this review, we discuss the latest advances in MPC research and targeted therapy, focusing on analysis of their stem-like characteristics, mapping their multiomics characteristics, and elucidating the vascular and immune microenvironment of MPC.
