Widely distributed in nature, it poses a significant threat as a nosocomial pathogen, particularly affecting immunocompromised neonates and the elderly.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>This study aimed to describe the antimicrobial susceptibility and outcomes of E. meningoseptica infections over seven years in United Arab Emirates. A retrospective chart review study was conducted at four hospitals that are part of Dubai Academic Health Corporation.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>A total of 23 cases were observed during the study, 21 (91%) of which exhibited multidrug resistance. More than half of the cases required intensive care and mechanical ventilation (n = 13, 57%). The in-hospital mortality rate was 38% (n = 5) in adults and 20% (n = 2) in pediatrics.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>E. meningoseptica is a significant nosocomial pathogen with high antibiotic resistance, posing severe risks to immunocompromised pediatric and adult patients.
