MiR-107 expression is downregulated in HCC resulting in enhanced KIF23 translation. This enables abnormal proliferation of HCC cells. Both, overexpression of miR-107 or knockdown of KIF23 induces failed assembly of mitotic spindle, cytokinesis failure and subsequently inhibits tumour development.
