Based on the dual perspectives of informal institution and environmental innovation, this study constructs a research framework of “culture‐innovation‐performance” to explore the relationship between Confucian culture, environmental innovation, and family firm performance as well as the moderating role of market competition intensity. A total of 529 family firms in the manufacturing industry listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen A‐share stock markets between 2015 and 2021 were selected as the research sample to test the hypotheses using multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that Confucian culture significantly promotes the quality of environmental innovation but does not have a significant effect on the quantity of environmental innovation; moreover, both the quantity and quality of environmental innovation can promote the performance of family firms, and this promoting effect is stronger in an environment with lower market competition intensity. 摘要

环境创新已成为家族企业满足制度要求和市场需求的重要途径。本研究基于非正式制度和环境创新的双重视角,构建 "文化-创新-绩效 "研究框架,探讨儒家文化、环境创新与家族企业绩效之间的关系,以及市场竞争强度的调节作用。选取2015年至2021年间在沪深A股市场上市的制造业家族企业共529家作为研究样本,采用多元回归分析法对假设进行检验。结果表明,儒家文化对环境创新的质量有显著促进作用,但对环境创新的数量没有显著影响;此外,环境创新的数量和质量都能促进家族企业绩效的提升,而且在市场竞争强度较低的环境中,这种促进作用更强。这项研究不仅丰富了儒家文化在环境创新中的应用,也为企业如何提高环境创新的质量提供了指导。
